So this is the new year...

What’s up everyone, hope everything’s cool.  Just wanted to check in and say hey. 2010 has started off insanely busy for us, and it looks like there is no slowdown in sight; we really wouldn’t have it any other way.  Upon finishing and recording two new songs for our split with Touche Amore we took off down the east coast and up through the midwest with our friends in a band called Transit.  I know all of us had an incredible time sharing the roads with these dudes.  For me it is always a huge bonus to be able to call the bands that you are touring with, friends. Using that criteria MDAM scored double this winter, because after the Transit tour we got to go to Canada with the guys in Another Breath.  I can easilly say that AB are some of the most legit guys I have ever had the oportunity of meeting. Between breaking into Marine Land with our dude Randy, Playing indoor paintball, and sharing long talks with new friends; this Canadian tour was easilly my favorite we’ve done so far.  Many thanks to Timmer, Glenn, Nathan, Scott, Randy, Brandon, Gabe, Dave, Pascal, and everybody else who showed us love in CA.

We are home now, enjoying some not so down down-time.  We are continuing writing for the LP while playing a few cool shows in the coming months.  You will be hearing a lot out of us in the next couple weeks, so please keep on your toes.

Thanks.

UPDATE(12/3/09)

Hey everyone!

We’ve kept a bit quiet since we got back from the Shook Ones tour. Hope everyone has been well. We have a lot of exciting things coming up in the next few months.

First off, we have a new bass guitarist. Pat decided that he could no longer handle the schedule of the band, and he had to focus in on his teaching job. We love Pat with all of our hearts and wish him the best in his teaching endeavours.

Our new bassist goes by the name of Mike Poulin. He is an fine young gentleman who far surpasses our strict code of handsomeness. His first show is going to be the 19th of December on Long Island with Algernon Cadwallader, Tigers Jaw, Transit, and Agent. We are really psyched to have Mike as a part of the band. We feel he’s going to be a perfect addition to the MDAM family.

In other news, we are heading into the Studio on the 12th and 13th to record two brand new songs that are going to appear on a split release with Touche Amore from Los Angeles. If you have not heard TA yet, head to their myspace immediately and check them out: http://www.myspace.com/toucheamore. We are honored to be able to share a release with this band; it is going to be a super special thing. We are all extremely proud of the two new songs we’ve written for the split; we can’t wait for everyone to hear them.

Lastly, we have some awesome touring coming up this winter, starting with a 2 and a half week jaunt with our friends in Transit. And immediately after that we are going to head into Canada for a few days with an incredible band from Upstate NY called Another Breath. You can check the Transit dates on our myspace(www.myspace.com/makedoandmend) The Another Breath dates will be up within the week.

Alright, I think that’s about it. After we get back from this winter’s touring, we will be totally sinking our teeth into completing the writing for our full length. We are planning on that being recording this spring which is incredibly exciting for us.

Come out to the shows this winter and keep an eye out for a new song December!

Check Up

Hey, just wanted to check in with everyone.  The next couple weeks are going to be pretty insane. On the 29th we take off down to Gainesville, for FEST 8. We are all incredibly stoked, as well as incredibly honored to be playing this year. As I’m sure many of you have, we have all made out our schedules to keep track of all of the incredible bands that are going to be playing throughout the weekend. Some standouts for me are, Shook Ones, Broadway Calls, Defeater, Carpenter, along with a ton of others, including many bands who are going to be playing in Gainesville that weekend who arent going to be playing FEST, like Touche Amore.  If any of you are down in the area, come and say what’s up. The day after FEST, we embark on a two week tour back up the East Coast with the almighty, Shook Ones. I am incredibly excited for this tour.  In the realm of newer, active, punk bands Shook Ones is arguably my favorite; I am really eager to watch them every night.  All of those dates are up on the myspace.  Feel free to check them out! I think that’s all I got. Take care, everyone. - MDAM

Look at those guns!  Look at that hair! For real though,  Here are some pictures from tonight in Mendon.  I want to thank everyone who had any hand in putting the show together.  We had an incredible time, both playing and getting to hang out with some of our closest friends.  Big ups to all the bands, much love to the guys in Frogball.  I think anyone will generally agree that the best bands always break up too soon. Tonight was proof positive. Thanks again everyone. - MDAM

So, It's done.

We’ve been home for a few days.  I feel like my head is still spinning thinking about what just happened. The last stretch was out of this world.  I want to thank our friends in Like Bats for being the best.  At the end of the tour we played 3 shows in Eastern Canada.  Being able to play in a completely different country and feel completely at home is a real gift.  We played two of those three shows with a band from Toronto called, !Attention! These dudes were some of the most easy to get along with people I have ever met.  I am proud to call these dudes our new friends.  Coming home was a trip.  After a month and a half seeing the same four faces every day, keeping the same routine; seeing my family and friends and having a bed to sleep in every night has been really strange.  Thank you to everyone who came out to the show the other night in New Brittain, it was incredible to be reminded why we feel so fortunate to be from Connecticut.  To anyone who caught a show on tou, to all of the incredible bands we played with, and to all the new friends that we made, please accept our sincerest thanks.  See you real soon. - MDAM

Yo so this is my first post of this tour.  Hope you’re doing well.  I guess the last time Matt Checked in was while we were in LA.  To start, the west coast was off the hook.  I want to thank Kenny and the rest of the Comadre crew for having us at Kinda Like A Fest.  That was one of the favorite shows that I have ever played with this band.  The best part of KLAF was getting to see so many Incredible bands.  The next couple days were sort of a blur.  We got to play a few incredible shows with Touche Amore and Hour of The Wolf.  Please check out Touche Amore.  I have never met a more sincere group o dudes playing such incredible music.  We played in Reno, I blew $2 on a slot machine and then spent the rest of the night heckling people at the card tables.  After California we headed to Vancouver.  I had never been to Canada before and to be honest I was totally suprised at how cool and receptive everyone was, the show was incredible.  We got to hang at Flex Your Head Radio for a bit, if you want to hear us sounding dumb on the radio you can download the podcast here After Vancouver we headed to one of my all time places to play, Tacoma WA.  Getting to play with Touche Amore again combined with getting to see a lot of people who I have really missed made this one of my favorite nights of tour so far.  The past few nights we played in SLC and Denver with Crooked Ways, a really really cool band from Denver.  Last night we played at the Waterloo AMVETS in Waterloo Iowa.  Everywhere we go I brag about the Connecticut punk and hardcore scene.  Waterloo Iowa is the first place I have ever been that rivals CT, that’s saying a lot.  I want to thank Former Thieves, Andrew, and Ben for everything.  We are making our way home.  I’m really excited for the next stretch.  Thank you to everyone who has caught a show so far.  This tour has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life.  Take care. - James MDAM

West Coast is the Best Coast?

Hiiii, updating from my uncles house in Los Angeles California. The rest of Texas was awesome, thank you to all of the great people we met in Corpus Christi. Much fun was had from shooting tons of fireworks off in the open field, to jumping off buildings into pools, and finally pat attempting to eat 10 cheeseburgers at whataburger. Whataburger is amazing, just dont try and eat two 5 patty burgers. El paso was awesome after we had a disastrous time getting there. While driving on the hot desolate highways of texas, one of our tires blew out. Pat was driving and we swerved back and forth all over the highway and almost flipped. Big ups to Pat for keeping the van under control. But it turns out our spare tire was a bum, so we had to call triple A. It took them no less than 2 and a half hours to get to us, but luckily Mike had episodes of eastbound and down on his computer to keep us entertained. But finally we made it, and played Nay’s house, and it ruled. Thanks so much to him for letting us show up so late and still play.

Next we headed to Arizona, and got to meet and hang with the dudes from Run With the Hunted(check that band out right now, big things to come.) We went swimming with an ex convict and his two kids, and just kind of stayed inside the rest of the time because of the heat. I guess it is a known thing to not leave your air conditioned homes in AZ, it was 122 degrees outside. Thanks to all of the dudes and dudettes from Ready Resist for taking care of us and playing with us 2 days in a row. The show in AZ fucking ruled, thanks to everyone who came out.

The next night was in Tiajuana Mexico. Drop all pre conceived ideas you have of Tiajuana, it was so much fun. All of the people are super kind, and we had some of the best chinese food ever, in mexico… Prostitution is legal there, and I guess it is an accepted thing to get down in the streets. A little bit different, but hey, whatever. Thanks to Rene for escorting us around, and helping with the show.

After Tiajuana, we had a few days off in CA, so we have kind of just been running around seeing what the west coast has to offer. The coastline is beautiful, and is the one thing that the East Coast lacks. And good weather year round I guess. We got to check out San Diego, and have been seeing friends and family in LA for the past day and a half. These two days off have been much needed, but we are ready to get back in action tonight in Riverside. Alright, peace!
